Study of Sit Stand Workstations on Chronic Lower Back Pain

by Katherine Harris November 14, 2016

Chronic lower back pain

In March a study was released in the Journal of Occupational & Environmental Medicine on the impact of sit-stand workstations on chronic lower back pain.

Forty-six university employees with self-reported chronic lower back pain were enrolled and participants were randomly selected to receive a sit stand desk for a 3 month period. Surveys of all participants were conducted to assess changes in wellbeing.

Findings from the study support the hypothesis that chronic lower back pain might be improved by the introduction of a sit stand workstation in an office environment.
